Why Tom Sawyer Resonates: Finding Relatable Fictional Characters
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Who is the fictional character you relate to the most?

Fictional characters come and go in our lives through books, plays, and cinema. Some are just forgettable, and others leave their mark on our souls and, in a way, provide us with something. Few characters are hated, few are admired, and few are idolized.

I, too, came across so many such characters over the years through books and movies. Now, in particular, I don’t relate to any character, but some characters feel close to my heart.

If I have to choose just one character, that would be Tom Sawyer from Mark Twain’s famous work. I just loved how naughty and smart Tom was, and his adventures were worth exploration. I clearly remember my first introduction to the character in 6th standard through a chapter in our English language book. Although I was not as naughty as him in my childhood, I was considered a silent naughty kid.
