How do you make time for self-care?
My self-care revolves around physical and mental health, and I try to get enough time for them each day. I also read self-help books from time to time. My latest self-care book was Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, and I am following the mantra in that book, which is pretty effective.
The book talks about implementing SAVERS at the start of the day. My day starts that way, not always, but I try to be as consistent as I can.
S – Silence
A – Affirmations
V – Visualization
E – Excercise
R – Reading
S – Scribing
These 6 basics can change anyone’s life easily: practicing Silence, reading positive affirmations, visualizing where you want to see yourself down the road, exercising for your physical fitness, reading any book you like, and finally writing your thoughts on a piece of paper can improve your mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
I start my day with a glass of warm water, then I do the SAVERS. I meditate for 5/10/15 mins using the Insight Timer app, then do my affirmations and visualizations. Then I hit the gym for 45 mins (not consistently, though; working on it). If I wake up early, I complete my daily prompt; otherwise, I do it during my office break. Reading also depends on my morning availability. If not done, then I do it during lunch or before bed.
After work, I also play Pickleball for 2+ hours, which makes up for any missed gym time. I try to do all 6 activities in a day, and that keeps my sanity intact. I enjoy playing; that’s like my mental healing. Other than that, listening to podcasts about finance, success, or motivation keeps me inspired throughout the day.
I’d love to know — which of these habits resonates most with you?
Happy Reading! Keep Traveling!!!
